Ekagrata
Ekagrata in Yoga is the concentration on one subject, at one point, and serves to refocus attention, namely the mental stream, which is usually discontinuous, fluctuating and feverish movement, a certain stability. The mind is indeed like a monkey who does not stand still, following distraction and that is deformed from all conditioning. With the ekagrata the individual ceases to be at the mercy the endless distractions, the passions, mental automatisms and all that widespread activity and confused that characterizes our normal lives and especially the mental life.
Try to take a walk and realize the imagination of the thoughts that cross your mind constantly, carrying it around. Not only your attention is scattered, but are not even in contact with the external environment. In essence, man is always at the mercy of feelings, thoughts, fantasies and memories on which it has no control. But with the ekagrata tries to stop the flow and to regain dominion over this mental activity, sensory and unconscious.
The point of focus can be the center the forehead, the tip of the nose, the center of the vision of mind when you close your eyes, breath, a bright object or anywhere we choose. While we focus on it, it governs the attention and we become insensitive to external distractions.
ekagrata The work is a first attempt to reduce the dispersion of mind, not to be dominated by psychic automatism and once again become masters of ourselves. Perform the exercise several times a day, close your eyes and concentrate, at home, at work, train, everywhere. Improve attention span and mental clarity.
